Q - What time does Frightland close?
A – While the Frightland gates and ticket booth close at 9pm (10pm on Saturdays), the attractions at Frightland do not have a set closing time. We generally close when the last group completes their attractions. You will begin your night at the Frightland ticket booth for a FrightPass (or to exchange your E-Ticket for a FrightPass) then you’ll head to the Haunted Hayride. You will go through our 8 attractions in order. As long as you have gone directly to the Hayride line after getting your FrightPass from the ticket booth, you will be able to finish. Be sure to listen to the DJ and announcements for last calls so you don’t miss your attractions. The Amusements are the last to close.
Q - What is the best time to arrive?
A – Our gates open at 6pm, so no one will be allowed to enter prior to that time. From there, you will head to the ticket booth to purchase your ticket or exchange your E-Ticket for a paper FrightPass and then head directly to the Horror Hayride. Except for Saturdays, our gates close at 9pm and you will be unable to enter our gates after that time.
Q - What time does Frightland open?
A – Frightland gates and Ticket Booth open at 6:00 and close at 9pm (10pm on Saturdays). As long as you are in the Ticket Booth line before the gates close and then head directly to the Horror Hayride line, you will be able to do all 8 attractions. The amusement rides are the last to close.
The Hayride line generally opens at 6pm and the hayride starts as soon as it gets dark. You want to make sure you head to the Hayride line as soon as you get your FrightPass from the ticket booth.
Q - How does the VIP Frightpass work?
A – The VIP FrightPass gets you to the front of the lines for Haunted Hayride, Ravenwood Cemetery, Ghost Town, Haunted Barn, The Attic, Idalia Manor and Zombie Prison. We alternate between VIP FrightPass guests and FrightPass guests to ensure the VIP FrightPass line moves quickly.
Q - Is there security at Frightland?
A – Yes. On most nights, the Delaware State Police are on site and in uniform. In addition, every evening Frightland has an outside security force that checks each person into the park and patrols the areas. Frightland has a ZERO tolerance policy for trouble makers. Trouble makers and their guests will be ejected from Frightland without a refund. We want everyone to have a safe and fun time! For this reason we do not allow backpacks, packages, coolers, purses, etc.
We have over 100 cameras on our property that monitor groups and look for troublemakers.
Q – Does it cost anything to park?
A – No. Parking at Frightland is now free. A portion of our ticket sales goes directly to The Leukemia Research Foundation of Delaware.
Q - Are the attractions open if it rains?
A – Frightland is generally open rain or shine as long as we can safely operate. Attraction lines are tented but lightning and heavy rain may close all attractions. You may check our website or social media for the latest closure updates. We make weather decisions at 4pm the day of the show. There are no refunds if we close due to inclement weather. In the event of a closure, you are able to use your ticket any regular night we are open this season. Closing due to bad weather will be at the discretion of the staff at Frightland.
Q - How long does it take to go through everything?
A – Plan on spending at least 90 minutes with us. On our busy nights, it could take up to 4 hours. The closer it gets to Halloween, the lines get longer and the wait times become longer. We are a very popular haunted attraction scream park, so if time is an issue, we recommend purchasing a VIP FrightPass.
Q – If we do not make it through all the attractions in one night, can we come back another night?
A – All attractions must be done in order, so if you arrive at Frightland before the gates close and go directly to the ticket booth, then proceed to the Horror Hayride, you will be able to finish everything in one evening. If for some reason you are unable to finish, you can save your unused ticket to return to do Idalia Manor and Zombie Prison any other regular night we’re open this season that matches your ticket (Eg – Saturday for Saturday). The rides bracelet is only good for the night it was issued.
Q- Can we ride only the hayride?
A – Yes, however the ticket price will remain the same. If you are only interested in the hayride, just make the security wagon rider aware. At the end of the hayride, remain on the wagon and you will be brought back up front. There is no half ticket so the price remains the same.
Q - How do I get to Ravenwood Cemetery, Fear and Ghost Town?
A – Due to nature of our world famous haunted attractions being spread out across 150 acres, some attractions are too far away from the main midway to safely allow our guests to walk to. For this reason, we have designed Ravenwood Cemetery, Fear and Ghost Town to be accessible from the Horror Hayride. Once the Hayride attraction is finished, the wagon will drop you off at Ravenwood Cemetery. After finishing Ravenwood Cemetery, you will walk to Fear. Finally, once you are done Fear you will walk to Zombie Ghost Town which brings you back up to The Attic.
Q - Do you offer group discounts?
A- Group rates start at 13 guests. Group tickets must be purchased ahead of time and can not be purchased on site. We do not offer Group Rate tickets on Saturdays. You can purchase group tickets on our ticketing page.
Q - Is Frightland handicap accessible?
A- Guests with wheelchairs of standard size (24″ wide) are able to have someone from their own party help them to get onto the hayride wagon at Horror Hayride. The wheel chair must be left at the loading station. You will want to let the wagon rider know you are only doing the hayride. At the end of the Hayride, you will stay on the wagon and come back up to the loading station where you will have someone from your own party help you off the wagons and back on to your chair.
All of the midway is handicap accessible.
Q - Do you take credit cards? Apple Pay?
A – Yes, Frightland’s ticket booth and gift shop accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express & Discover. Please note, there are no refunds for any reason. Nearly all debit cards are accepted. We also accept Apple Pay and most other forms of “Tap to Pay”.
Q - Is there a dress code?
A – Frightland is a working farm. Do not wear your best clothes or heels to impress the ghouls… they like you just the way you are! There may be mud, water, loose stones, holes in the ground, uneven walkways and other related elements…
Sneakers or boots are the best footwear for the farm environment. If you get cold, you can purchase t-shirts or hoodies in The Little Shop of Horror gift shop. Be sure to dress appropriately for both the weather and the farm environment.
For the safety of our ghouls and guests, we do not allow theatrical masks, costumes or theatrical makeup.
Q - Is Frightland scary?
A – Frightland is intended to be both scary and fun! We love to make you scream and have a good time. We have been named a Top 10 Scariest Haunted Attraction in the country by numerous national outlets including Travel Channel and Forbes. We DO NOT recommend Frightland for children under 14, which is the reason why there is no children’s ticket.
Q - Can I bring my kids? What is the Children's Price?
A – We recommend that children be 14 years old & older, but this is ultimately up to you. It really depends upon each individual child as no one knows your child as you do. We have kids as young as 8 that are fine, and we have adults that can’t make it through. You as a parent must make the judgment call. Keep in mind, there are no refunds if your child is unable to continue through Frightland. Any human body coming through will be required to have a ticket.
We are a haunted attraction, equivalent to a Rated R movie. For this reason, we do not offer a child’s ticket.
Q – Can I drop my teenagers off?
A – Frightland recommends that all kids have chaperones. We recommend Frightland for children 14 and older. Before you reach the parking lot, make a left into the field off of RT 13. Please be aware that we do not have security at the front gate and that they will have to walk with traffic to the security gates. You do have the option of dropping them off closer to the security gates. After dropping them off, you will able to turn around to leave Frightland.
Q - Is there food available?
A – There are multiple concession stands throughout the amusement midway area where you can purchase anything from drinks, to meals, sides and snacks. Outside food or drinks are not permitted. Food, drinks, amusement rides and games are proudly brought to you by Houghton Enterprises.
Q - Are there things I am not permitted to bring to Frightland?
A – Yes, our security officers do a metal detector scan on each guest as they are entering the park.
The following items are NOT permitted at Frightland: Weapons of any kind, alcoholic beverages, outside food or beverages, flashlights, glowing or light up clothing, toys or accessories, emotional support pets or animals (except for service dogs). No theatrical makeup, masks or costumes are permitted. No bags of any kind are permitted – back packs, purses, diaper bags, etc. should be left in your car. If there is a medical need, a small clear bag may be brought in and inspected by security.
Customers are NOT permitted to have their face disguised by a mask and are NOT permitted to wear a costume or theatrical makeup. Cameras are not permitted. Strollers are only permitted in the midway area. No strollers or infants are permitted in the haunted attractions.
Q - How can I leave feedback, comments, and suggestions regarding Frightland?
A – Send us your comments via email at [email protected]
Q - What is your refund policy?
A – We are a live, theatrical production. As such there are no refunds or exchanges for any reason. In the unlikely event that we are closed due to extreme weather, ticket holders will be emailed and your ticket is able to be used any night we’re open this season by ticket type (Eg. Saturday ticket for Saturday; Weekday ticket for Weekday).
